Engine Parts

Below is just a rough sketch - please choose your own dimensions and style!

Piston:

Create a cross section, use the revolve command!

Add hole for the pin

Cut off the sides:

Carve an arch for the connecting rod

Use the shell command to make it hollow

Remove center to make room for connecting rod

Save it!

Connecting rod:

Emboss it with your name and ENGR1201!

Open a new part for the second half of the connecting rod:

Crank Shaft:

Engine Block:

 

extrude 8 inches

Make the wrist pin/ bolts etc.  

Assemble it!

Open up an assembly, and place all of your pats:

Make the engine block clear so that you can see inside of it, change the color of your parts so you can distinguish them after you put them together.

Constraints
Start with the crank Shaft:
View - degrees of freedom

Constrain the Crank shaft so that all it can do is rotate around an axis.  
End of crank shaft → assembly planes
Axis of Crank shaft→ assembly coordinate axis
